It's Spring on Anglesey - Visit Holyhead

Spring has arrived on Anglesey with sunny weather, although it is still a bit cold. This is the time when guest houses, bed and breakfasts, hotels, and caravan parks reopen, and we see more visitors on the golden island of Anglesey. Spring really is a good time if you want to visit before the busier summer season starts. This is true for international guests wanting to visit either side of a trip to Ireland. The ferries tend to be a bit quieter.
What is there to do?

Enjoy great walks at Penrhos Nature Reserve, Rocky Coast, Holyhead Mountain, or visit South Stack. There is so much to see and appreciate.
Cafes and restaurants are quieter, making it easier to get a table reservation or grab a quick coffee and cake.
Shops are still open and looking forward to welcoming customers, many with some great early season offers.

South Stack Island and Lighthouse will reopen to the public, weather permitting, on Saturday and Sunday, 8th/9th and 15th/16th of March 2025 (see times below). It will then be open daily, weather permitting, from Saturday, 22nd March until the end of September. Opening times, weather permitting, are:
Saturday to Thursday, 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM (last tour at 4 PM)
Fridays, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM (last tour at 4:30 PM)

Holyhead Port is open following the damage from storm Darragh. Both Stena and Irish Ferries are operating as normal but using the same berth, and there is an amended timetable for sailings. These are shown below. These timetables change slightly on the 16th April 2025.

Overall, spring is a fantastic time to visit Anglesey. The Hut Seafront Inn opens on the 2nd April after our winter break (no fools here :) ) and we look forward to welcoming you. Remember, it is always best to BOOK DIRECT.
Mae’r gwanwyn wedi cyrraedd ac edrychwn ymlaen at eich croesawu i’r Hut Seafront Inn.
